On Thursday, January 29, Charleston Magazine Club gathered at M. Dumas & Sons for Toast to SEWE, our spirited kickoff to Charleston’s wildest weekend. The evening featured the reveal of our member-submitted dog portrait by artist Peggy Watkins, alongside The Retriever, a signature cocktail crafted with sparkling rosé Prosecco from Don Luchi Wines. Guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres by Dish & Design Catering— including swordfish, venison, and duck—while perusing a selection of fine furs by J. Eric Larsen. Bourbon tastings, giveaways, and music by Mel Washingtonkept the energy high, with the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition team on hand to answer questions and set the tone for a weekend full of sport, style, and Southern tradition.
