“Erwin Redl: Rational Exuberance” Private Tour

Thursday, June 30, 2016 - 6:00pm

Austrian artist Erwin Redl uses a unique medium for his art: light. Through a process of ”reverse engineering,” Redl translates abstract binary language into computer-controlled, large-scale displays. The exhibit is meant to lead viewers into a sense of deep physical reality by transforming theHalsey Institute into a magical space with rows of LEDs that seem to change configurations as the viewer moves through three-dimensional columns of light. Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, 161 Calhoun St. Thursday, 6pm, (843)953-4422, www.halsey.cofc.edu
